Life in the Fullest Sense

If you control every aspect of the trip then it isn’t a trip in the fullest sense. Naturally this is not a problem if you don’t aspire to a trip (or a life) in the fullest sense… but for a while that’s what you hoped for, wasn’t it?

Is there ever a time to suspend your talent for organization and planning and all the other abilities you display so impressively when you are attending to basic sustenance? Might there be good things that come from out of the blue only when we remove the momentum or inertia of real life, and even step outside the original Plan for the trip sometimes? The place that control takes you is not necessary the most enriching place, if you don’t loosen the reins a little periodically.

Think of it as a muscle, not a policy, and dare to use control sparingly. Many of the best human moments have at their base a decision someone made to take a chance, to needlessly, heroically, extend their life headlong into some manifestation of More.
