It is not what we will upon ourselves that makes us happy it is the understanding that we are given will from the universe. And that when we just stop and wonder we begin to glance at the zen like meaning of life or at least the beauty of life.
Sometimes it takes a traumatic experience such as the death of a loved one that knocks us off our feet or sometimes it may just be a age related threshold we pass through where wisdom replaces desire. As we grow old and watch our lives come closer to the end we question life and what we are doing this all for. We are no longer young and bold but now old and feeble.
How is it that the old and feeble keep their will to live when they suffer so much? Why is their will to live so strong when there is so little to live for as their bodies deteriorate? What wisdom to they have that younger people cant comprehend. For many of us life is a harsh struggle to just eat and survive. Yet for some of those who struggle every day their spirits have a peacefulness.
Is it as simple as the love we have for those of us around us that keeps us here and sane? The quiet reflection of our existence is where the answers lay. It may be a dancing piece of paper or the lapping of waves that takes us there. May we all find our inner peace and joy and look at the world around us that way. If only for a short while so we may die in peace life will have meant something.

nice Dave, very nice– thanks for the comment. Quiet reflection has got to be part of the answer….
