Looking at zoo animals, I wondered if a place could be called a prison if you had all you needed? I think it can be.
‘Prison’ has less to do with your comfort level than it has to do with whether you can leave or not. Being unable to leave might itself become uncomfortable eventually, but I think many animals know that better than a lot of people.
